If you’ve been coming to Bloom for very long, you’re probably well aware that Dr. Ward’s top passion…right next to naturopathic medicine….is dog rescue. Doctor Ward has been fostering and rescuing dogs for many years now. And she now has her own non profit 501c3 called It Matters To One, with her rescue partner, Stef Schneider. Together, they have a 6 acre facility in Sugar Camp Wisconsin which is currently housing 50 of their rescued dogs. Many people are surprised to hear that Southern California has some of the highest kill rates at the animal shelters. Dr. Ward’s rescue saves dogs from death row in Southern California. The dogs are then vetted, and fostered while they are rehabilitated. They then are adopted out into loving families.
Dr. Ward wants everyone to know that nearly 10 thousand adoptable dogs per day are euthanized in shelters across the country. Please consider adopting from your local animal shelters, rather than buying from breeders or pet shops. She also wants you to know that a portion of every dollar spent at Bloom goes to help save more dogs. Nearly 500 dogs have been rescued through her organization.
Here’s to health,
love, and dogs!
